16pt Cloister OS No. 2 TEXT FONT with Small Caps. Dale Guild Foundry Type

This is USED metal printing type for letterpress printing. ID: The font is ATF/DGTF 16pt Cloister OS No. 2 TEXT FONT with Small Caps. It was cast by Theo Rehak at the Dale Guild Type Foundry. 24A/34T/420a, with small font of small caps. The font's exact contents can be seen in the pics. Please note that this is Cloister OS No. 2, which has DIAMOND dots and points which are in keeping with Jenson's original cutting.

New matrices were cut at the Dale Guild by T. Rehak for the 16pt size only.

There were about a half dozen 100# text fonts cast; no small fonts were cast. The type is lightly used, much is uninked. Some caps & lower-case were mortised on a rare Rouse Mortising Machine for better fitting.

Some seen at bottom of cap/small cap box and others are here & there. No kerning caps/small caps to break. This is Barth-cast foundry type using virgin metals, not remelted type. Font will come in 3 fonting boxes with lids and inner trays. They were designed for metal type, and can be reused for larger bodied types [or smaller] once this font is laid in a case. The lines of type are 27 pica long. A used font in very good condition.

There are a NO worn or damaged sorts as can be seen in the pics. + + + + + + + + + +. + + + + + + + + +. Most of what I list is not my own, it's listed for friends. I sell old and new types, type-founders' artifacts, type-cabinets & cases, strip material including new brass rule & new 1/2 pt.
