Antique Letterpress Type Wood Blocks Alphabet-Complete Set 500 PLUS BLOCKS

Over 500 wood blocks--Antique letterpress wood type printer block complete alphabet--Upper and Lower case, Numbers and punctuation. Pic #3 shows a complete alphabet of the Upper Case letter. There are approximately 191 Upper Case letters.

There are 2 AE wood blocks, 3 Ampersand symbols, and 1 punctuation-looks like an underscore. Letters are approximately 5/8 tall (front to back) with the letter Q being a little taller.

Width varies with the letter W being over 3 wide. There are 14 wood blocks with metal tops (1-A, 6-S, 3-T, 3-U, 1-V). Some of these blocks are marked Franklin Type Foundry Cincinnati on the side.

An example of each letter is shown in pic #4. The letter A has the most blocks with 13. The letter Q has 3 blocks. One of the letters has a crack but included it since there were so few of these-(can be seen in pic #4). I have a complete count of each letter if you're interested. There are 2 styles of the letter S, and 2 styles of the letter X-can be seen in pic #4. The letter S has 6 wood blocks and 6 metal top blocks. There are few letters with some red paint splatters-one letter is shown in pic #4. Pic #6 shows a complete alphabet of the lower case letters. There are approximately 275 Lower Case letters (no blocks with metal tops in the lower case).

The letter e has the most blocks with 22. Y has the least with 2.

I have a complete count of each letter if you're interested The lower case L and the #1 look like the same block only 1 is turned upside down compared to the other. An example can be seen in the last pic-lower right-hand corner. Letters are approximately 5/8 tall (front to back) with the letters g, p, q, y being a little taller. The lower case letter w is approximately 2 1/2 wide.

There are 28 number wood blocks. 8 #1--3 #2--2 #3--3 #4--4-#5--2 of 6 or 9--2 #7--2-#8--2 #0 (same block as the Upper Case O). There are 14 punctuation blocks.

As with all antique letterpress printer blocks, these are dusty, dirty, have dried ink, marks. These have been lightly brushed off. Wood trays are not included. I've tried to describe this AWESOME, HUGE group of antique letterpress wood type blocks. Hope I haven't overkilled.
