NOS 24pt ATF Gothic Shade A 19th C. Dickinson Tpfy. Design. Letterpress Type

ID: This is NEW metal printing type for letterpress printing. Not advised for hot stamping. The font is 24pt Gothic Shade, aka Jim Crow. NOTE: The cap package has been opened and an H and a U have been inked, and then replaced, a long time ago. Original cut by the Dickinson Tpfy.

1850, although they were not the only foundry to cast this face by the turn of the century. According to McGrew's book, they cast this face in 1933 & 1949; this font would have been cast in 1949, dated by the boxing and labels. Short run fonts usually had hand written labels.

Beautiful lavender hues on the types indicating a high antimony content and hard types. The lines of type in the font are 6 long, as are all ATF fonts.

Will combine other fonts at no additional Domestic shpg. If the weight exceeds 4#, I use a Medium Priority F-rate box, as the small boxes are too thin to safely carry more weight. + + + + + + + + +. INFO : I still have a few small fonts from our many years of working together at the Dale Guild.
