Hand Engraved Ornamental Wood Type Pattern. This wood block is of hard maple, entirely hand engraved with the outer borders still present (unscorped). The actual engraved letter measures just over 5 inches in height and about 7 inches high for the entire wood block and exactly one inch thick indicating it was not engraved for actual letterpress printing.

The hand proofs are included and were pulled from this exact wood block. The engraved details are still razor sharp and in excellent condition and will be an excellent pattern mold as was intended for the foundry to produce very valuable metal type.
