Approx 14 1/2" x 15 7/8". Steel plate is heavy and weighs approx 15 pounds. Block is in very good condition. Printer letter block and plate engravings are fantastic art pieces that can be framed.

Plate was created for the Universal Bulb Co. Cronquist, was an importer of bulbs and seeds from Europe from the 1920s to the 1970s. He started his business in New York, moved to Gastonia, NC, and then retired here in Chapel Hill, NC. Early on, the company hired an engraver to create steel, brass, copper and wood print blocks and plates for the packaging of products as well as to make seed, bulb, and floral catalogs. At the end of his career he wrote for the USDA NRCS (Natural Resources Conservation Service).
