You should be able to un-tape just the top cardboard so you can see the complete set without risking anything falling out or apart.

This type is OLD, characters may have nicks, scratches, dents, breaks, oxidation, corrosion, and layered ink, etc. ONLY SET : SEE SET SPECIFIC NOTE BELOW - There are roughly 955 letters/numbers/symbols in this set (in photos, please see letter chart for reference and example of the type), not including 19 extra quads/spacers to square the set.

Please see the chart showing what type is included in this set, there are NO lowercase letters - These sets never had lowercase, they are all uppercase, numbers & symbols. The top will be marked for easier opening. OPEN WITH CAUTION or you will have a pile of type on your floor. We are guessing on the typeface sub number, we have MANY 12 point Light Copperplate Gothic typefaces available so look at our other listings to see the difference.

We are calling this set Number 5 but we may have it wrong, this 12 point typeface comes in four different faces so please ask questions, look at the photos, and review the other listings for this typeface. When I measure the typeface letters in this set, they appear to measure about at an 8pt, but the body is still 12pt. The majority of pieces in this set look completely unused.

Copperplate Gothic is a Frederic Goudy / ATF typeface from 1901. This typeface is intended for headings and accent words and not main body text.

This typeface is regularly used for business cards and stationery headings. Please see photos for type condition, these were all used previously so there may be flaws, ink or other imperfections. We will add a random number of spacers to make this set as square as possible. Please be aware that working with this many very tiny letters we can make mistakes, there may be a letter off here or there, but we are doing our best!

We will only be listing two sets for this font/type, be sure to look at ALL of the photos for the set information in each listing. All of the type in this listing comes from the printing press that was originally located at Redwood High School in Larkspur, California. We are unsure how many decades the high school had this press or the type, but we believe it dates back to the early 1900s. We are slowly separating out sets of type for sale.
